Nah man, Spider deflection is how much a spider will let the coil rock side to side.
If it moves side to side it will hit metal, and its the only way you will get a 'clanking' noise unless the cone is hitting the spider landing itself...

That's why very very very few people use the large diameter spiders because it will allow it to rock, when the coil rocks with power on it it'l either short the coil out and fry it, or it'l make loud clanking metallic noises.

You can have MUCH more linear travel with a 8.5" spider with taller rolls, then a 10 or 12" spider with shorter rolls.

Easy But VERY crude example, Take a dollar bill hold it horozontally so you can read it properly left to right, and push your hands together. See how easy that is?

Now flip that same dollar bill 1/4 of a turn and do the same thing, you should beable to tell the difference in force needed to apply to make the dollar bill 'deflect' or move.

Point being...Spiders are ideally designed to be 100% linear in forward and rearword travel, and have no side to side travel...

Not to mention the possibility of even MORE coil rock from the tall surround...

If I was to get it redone by RE it woulda ended up around 250 to 300 because of the Kevlar cone. I don't know what it would've costed to get it reconed with the regular parts. I really didn't want to deal with RE at the time though because of all the complaints of horrible customer service and haggard turn around times. Plus shipping fees and what not.

IMO what needs to be done is a refund given for the recone and the motor sent to RE or tuan for a recone by skwurly fab, not TC.

I dont see why Nick, Loyd and Noah feel the need to bash every single post.

You all have companies you like, just keep to them and dont bother with the ones you dont like. Or is that to simple ?

I didnt bash i put a laughy smiley face to one post by 80 inches....i simply gave information, i didnt point loud enough to the problem apparently the first 3 times i pointed it out. Theres only 2 things that can go wrong one of them was fixed, so that narrowed it down to only one thing that could possibly go wrong!. And they still couldnt figure it out. The buildhouse asked for help...i tried to point it to them indrectly. Kyle still didnt get it, so i pointed the issue to them very directly, even gave a 'lay' example - and you come on here with your panties in a bunch.
