Im driving home today and I hear more rattle than usual from the trunk.

I didnt really think to much of it figuring it was just the song and maybe a certain frequency was the problem.

I get home and pop the trunk just to see and.......

I called Partsexpress.com, they tried to help but I bought to sub July 2010 and the warranty is only one year.

I contacted tc sounds but got the same one year warranty info.

I undrerstand subs aren't bullet proof but for the price I was really hoping the sub would last 5 years or so before I had any problems.

There is nothing in the trunk with the sub. No bags, no tools, nothing that could have punctured the cone.

I was driving the sub with a nine.1

Anyone else have the cone crack on a newer tc sounds sub?

IIRC when those subs first came out, a bunch of people had problems running a little over rms because of overheating issues with the coil. I guess it has thermal AND softpart issues. I really wish they would drop them back down to $269 a piece so I could snag a few to play with.
