TC sounds LMS-R 12"

Well it's not going to be as loud as many of the subs that people use on here tuned 6-8hz higher than what you'd normally tune a lms-R. If you want a sub to play low your going to give up output near tuning to do it vs tuning hiher. That's true of any sub or ported design. It'll lack output vs a pure fartbox yes, but no I doubt 2 12's or 2 15's or whatever you plan will be quiet and it should sound very nice.

Exactly what a was going to say...plus or minus a few words. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thats the thing, i have the crescendo 3k already, and only have enough room for 2 12s (or maybe 3 10s). id like to use the power i have, but who knows i can always try 2 ohm first and see how it works, would be easier on my electrical as well.

now im thinking about the AXIS line though. not sure yet :/

Axis will hold that kind of power much better than 3" LMS coil. But a totally different animal, if going super low is what you're after LMS is hard to beat.

My personal experience is 30hz and down LMS 12's outperformed 15" TC2000's at the expense of some 50hz and up.

hmm..so the axis has a 4" coil right?
how much lower would the lms-r play than the axis? this is a hard decision, also the price too..axis is more than 100 more per sub.
Axis has 3" coil as well, but it's NOT the LMS coil and has a much bigger motor to help absorb heat. (the only TC subs with 4" coil are the 4HP motor ones AFIK)

Below 35hz you'll notice a lot more output out of the LMS. Again you're sacrificing some >50hz and power handling...and of course the axis is a lot more money. I'm confident Axis will get pretty low too. Have you ever played test tones and really felt 20hz? It's very very low. I notice the difference with:

pipe organ music

movie sound effects

a few bass mechanik type songs with 10 and 20hz notes.

yea, see i rarely listen to anything THAT low, lowest shit i listen to is just low rap songs slowed down to make them even lower
Most of those barely even get down to 30. In the lowest of the lows the LMS drivers just wreck shit. Really my TC2K's played well down to 17hz in a box tuned to 28hz so it's not like the axis won't do it. Near as I know the Axis AKA tc3K works in a smaller box and has slightly more power handling than the 2K (that's what I was told by Kyle at TC when I bought mine)

Really the LMS R is a smoking deal so if you can get by with less power handling I'd jump on them at that price.

wow sorry, I havent checked up on this thread on a while

I will try to get vids this weekend

I have it running off a nine.1 so roughly 1400rms @1ohm and it takes it fine.

Id say it can take quite a bit more. It doesnt really get moving to much unless I play a really heavy bass song so id say at 1500rms each you will be fine.
