TC Sounds' DB-500 12"

Yeah, when you have a real good SQ sub, your vehicle even seems to rattle less b/c of less distortion causing less resonanace. I didn't even get a chance to deaden my trunk yet, but everyone asks me if I did. I've had an ed 15kv.2 in there before, and my trunk would rattle like crazy. Now the kv.2 was good SQ, before it blew, but no where near TC sounds products. My brother has the new tc-2000 15", and I mean it gets really really loud, but at the same time, has very little distortion. After 4 years of dealing with ED and that crap, I finally saw the light lol, and I would never go back, even if they were giving them away

The likely culprit is a different frequency response...(maybe lack of exaggerated low-end?)

what do yall think about 8 12in db-500s on a colossus II?ive been trying to decide between either the db500s or massive rws

both will be in a Team Toxic Bass box

do the tc.....at the price they are now, you can't go wrong and probably never find a sub as well built for this kind of money.

i believe that they are rated at 400wrms, but can handle more like 500-600wrms

I wasn't stating that it was the cause of less rattles, what I was stating that if the woofer is low distortion, it has less excess sound coming from the woofer. Hence its a cleaner sound. Less noise from the woofer less distortion. I stated it appears to have even lessen the rattles in the vehicle. I'm basing that on a direct swap out of sub woofers, same application, same amplifier, same ohmage.

I do have the loudest stereo in the world now.

has anyone been able to model the dB-500 12" in a program like winISD? i tried and it gives me all sorts of errors. i have one coming in this week and id like to model it before i build a box for it.

Well I have 2 12"tc2+ which are the old tc1000's, but like the db500. They sound great, but give them a week or so to break in, it takes a lil while to fully break in but sounds ALOT better once than do they right out of the box

Does anyone know how big a difference there is between this and the TC 1000, in terms of SQ and SPL? Let's say I have 500w to put to one. Is is worth the extra $125 to go with the TC 1000?

well let me put it like this, When I asked tc sounds about comparing my 12" tc2+ to the 1000, they said it would get a little louder and a little lower, and they said the tc2+ is alot like the db500. So with that said, that $75 is the best deal i've ever seen for a sub with those capabilities. if I didn't already have and love my current setup, I would have bought 4 at that price, kept 2 and sell the other two later on the forum and get a lil profit. BUT!!!! if your willing to spend the extra and want more output, and want it to get lower, tc sounds brought back the tc-9, which is what the tc2000 is based off of, and its going for $189 right now
