bracing.

Bracing is done to keep the box sturdy and flex less. You basically would want to do top to bottom, left ride, front to back and at one point all should connect. there are different types of bracing. You dont want to brace your port. Just remember that you will have to account for the added displacement. I think on JL Audio's website they have a section showing the different types as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each (theres 3 on their site)

 
If you double up the entire box then no bracing should be needed, but that's a LOT of extra wood/work.

You can use 1 1/2-2" hardwood dowels, or scraps of MDF. How big is the box as bracing might not even be needed?
