TC Sounds 4" Neo?!?!?!?!?

tc didnt make a whole lot of these because its actually a patent infringement i believe, its an aura 1808 motor with ribs cut in it and called a "beehive"

i havent got to play with any but i build and am currently running aura nrt 18 hybrids in my daily driver. uses anodized aluminum cone, flat 3 rib surround and tc 18" basket. The first 4 we built were prosound prototypes, for use in large cabinets, but once i burn a coil in my current pair, i will be looking to head more towards the spl side of things.

Aura motors are very very powerful neo motors, but are pretty expensive. i can build a 4 ohm PA driver for 1000$ a piece. And should have an spl driver ready to go by yucca valley.

underhung motor, neo radial its a 2 piece motor with long skinny neo mags that you epoxy in the radius. I am having problems finding someone to get the right coils for my application but these 4 ohm standard copper flatwind coils are holding out **** well.

the worx neo in the link above uses a 4" neo motor, but its not a radial neo as im sure the beehive is.

interesting to see that the worx neo seems to have all the same softparts as i used //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

There was someone selling some custom built subs using an Aura Sound ZRT18-8 motors and what appeared to be TC SPL top assemblies.

But those motors looked to be shaped more like a lightbulb than a beehive.

lol what are those neo mags from?^

and whose talking about my babies???

i freaking love these woofers, being able to drive the coil 20% out of the gap and not get distortion is sex.

unfortunately when i put these together tc was the only supplier for softparts and as you can see i just got off the shelf parts. Though the aura's are a superior motor, im very limited by my current softparts. 4 ohm coil, and flat surround arent cutting it. if i push more than my current power on these things i will more than likely melt the tinsel leads. and then tear the surround and suspension out....then burn the coil!!!!

im tossing around the idea of a 21" woofer, with double stacked magnets, and a split gap coil.

That's me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I remember seeing eagle12s or whatever posting your box log and seeing your woofers for sale on PWK.

I was able to log in fine, using Chrome if that helps. I don't know anything about the product at all, just found the info and shared the love. :)

Brother in law has some of their 8’s and they are little beasts. Typical cookie cutter product that performs as it should.

Off the shelf design, nothing special and will sound like a bull horn. The best pro audio drivers I’ve heard are the crossfire XTpro6’s. The best...

The formula is Square Root of your target Wattage Multiplied by Ohms. 50Wx4Ohms=200. Square root of 200 is 14.14. So 15v AC is your target.
