any chance you're tuning frequencey was lower than your subs Fs parameter? unloading ftl?
The tuning frequence and Fs do not correlate with eachother... at all... in terms of "unloading".

when you tune a box....you need to use the Fs to figure out where it's best to tune at since the Fs is the freq the woofer plays the best at free air. in a vented enclosure, playing freq BELOW the Fs will make it react as if in free air....

...so how is that NOT related when you tune your vented box to PEAK BELOW the Fs? asshat...... no wonder it fugged up the sub twice in a row. im not saying anythign bad about baseballfan since we all make mistakes...but you're wrong nG....

umm the enclosure is tuned above the fs of the sub my box is tuned to 34 and the subs fs is 19hz with the sp+ top and 24hz with the cp+ top. so im not sure how that could be happening

No, you are a DUMBASS.

Fs is free-air resonance, or the point (frequency) at which the subwoofers impedance is highest free-air.

Up for grabs is a Gravity Warzone 4000.1 mono amp. This is a solid low budget sub amp that does a solid 1000 or so watts at 1 ohm, maybe a bit...

Have you tried connecting the amp to a car battery? No subs, just power. If it protects, amp is bad. If no protect, subs/wiring or ATX power...
