I have a couple of these... none of mine failed, but the failure rate is pretty high on the glues on these guys from what I've seen. Mostly easy fixes... but still a pain and not good QC.

why would anyone have to "stand up and defend" them? seriously. every one knew that is what they were, they still bought them. TC didn't try and hide the fact. It seriously sucks for magic man, but tc doesn't need any defending (plus it seems like tc sounds posted in this thread saying they would cover it.... I am honestly not on either side (as i would be incredibly PISSED if that happened to me), but come on now....

not everyone knew, i didnt know the db-500 i bought was slapped together with bstock parts that had been sitting around for years until after i purchased it and sold it

although it performed decent for the price while i had it, i am glad i sold it seeing how well the other sub models using old parts are holding up.

At first I was told I have blown the driver from over-driving it, then I told this person that I was running 800wrms (the opt rms for this driver), then he said that was too much and I told him that was the rated power for this driver and he had to go check, then he told me that it could of been blown from underpowering or overpowering. He then told me the voice coil froze to the magnet causing it to freeze and would not be covered by warranty (At this point I did not know the top section of the motor shifted). He said I could send it in if I want and they can take a look at it and they were "honest people, and would tell me if it was in fact there fault if it was the driver itself that was the issue". At this point I did not want to go through the hassle of paying all the shipping/handling cost. Only a few months of owning this driver, 2nd time an issue has occured. Needless to say I was not happy with the person I spoke with on the phone or the service. So joseph decided to mess with the driver (by now its probably not warrantied anymore because its been taken apart). Thus founding out what was the problem.

Did you read this, he posted the quote from his website, after we had already taken apart the driver to find out what the issue was.

well i got my shim built tonight.

and am going to try to glue it back on today.

28mm xmax in a 10" sub for $125 used is a hard price to resist and i wanted one for a while until...
shame, shame on TC for releasing the db and oem series

Man...I have yet to power up my oem 10....I sure hope I don't run into any of this...I heard so many good things about the sub...

Welp, if it happens it happens. Been interested in the new stereo integrity subs that are being tested now anyways.....

2 be honset i dont see anything wrong with using old parts(if they do)

there subs have proven themselves already
