TC Ftl???

well my luck must be pretty shitty.

i got the top plate glued back on and everything was going well until i tried to take the shim out.

right after the shim came out the back plate decided to come loose...

but luckily the top plate is back in the correct position so i should be able to fix the back plate.

now i hope the two motor slugs don't decide to separate...

****, does sound like shitty luck.

I wish u the best wit it tho. But at least power it on to see how it works then sell it cuz ur gonna end up buying the SI subs anyhow
Lol, probably will! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll keep it around long enough for the SI's to get released I'm sure....

well i got the back plate glued back on tonight.

sometime tomorrow i will try to get the top assembly bolted back on and see what it does.

hopefully the voice coil doesn't rub on anything... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

and i am painting the motor black while i am at it.

I'm glad my TC-Sounds built 8200 is holding together just fine... and I'm not easy on the sub either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

SUCCESS... kind of...

it is all back together and it works great.

but when playing a sine wave from 49-55hz there is something that rubs in the motor.

when i played a 20khz-20hz sweep i didn't hear a thing though.

so hopefully when it is in a box playing music it won't make any bad sounds.

i am going to get a box built tomorrow and test it out.

why not simply play it free air?

i was playing it free air.and at certain notes (49-55) there is something that rubs inside the motor.

i am hoping that when it is in a sealed box playing music the rubbing will go away.

Haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif... and by "go away" do you mean such that you cannot hear it or it fixes itself
