At what point does my stock battery need to be changed out. Also does it need to be some stereo specific battery or does a Sears Costco Sams club battery work just the same.

02 durango 160amp alt big 3 upgrade stock battery arc ks300.4 and some sub amp class d probably 1000-1500watts...

agm batts are the best ,you can get a yellow top agm if your on a budget ,or look for used ,get the biggest you can fit under the hood too

Thats the optima battery? Its $235 on their site...

yes they are , i have 2 odyssey pc 2150 batteries msrp on them is 599 each ,but if you want a nice system you'll eventually have to get one .

Lol i know. Try looking up prices on xs power batts, or kinetic, you'll fall over.

there are some cheaper batts out there ,c&d shuriken,data safe ,and deka ,just to name a few off hand

What exactly is needed in this battery? What specs should I look at?

the agm battery will be your best bet , for proformance and long lasting

Hello Community,

Always rotate your stock. Batteries slowly lose their charge, and good stock-rotation stops batteries going flat in storage and makes sure that the customer buys a good battery. Store batteries in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Protect batteries from excessive heat. Store batteries in an upright position. Do not remove any seals from dry-charged batteries until you are ready to commission the battery by filling it with acid. Make sure handles are left in the flat (down) position. Upright handles are more likely to be damaged. Check the open-circuit voltage of the batteries in your stock every month using a digital voltmeter or a multimeter. If any have a voltage below 12.40V, give them a refreshing charge. Scrap any batteries that drop below 11.00V.
