this is somewhat car audio related and maybe some people would want to do this someday so i guess i will post it haha. im building it because we all know how big of a pain ripping a 4x8 sheet of mdf is. and having a friend help is not easy either lol. unless they know what they are doing things can....go wrong.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif its not perfect, or good looking, but it will be functional and thats what counts. its no where near complete but its a start. this piece needs to be mobile incase the garge needs to be used for whatever. sooooo it will all be alble to be pulled up over the saw. there will be a whole work bench and lots of shelving to be be built as well. the base is 4'x5' and its 3' or so high. lol anyways enough talk, here are the pics.

Haha, looks great! I understand your concern about the large boards... I almost had a disaster yesterday. I didn't have any friends around so I recruited my mom. Big mistake here. I coached her on what to do and went through different commands multiple times. At the end of the first cut, the wood was too heavy and it was trying to tip the table over before the cut had finished! I was holding it down with everything I had and was yelling at her to turn the saw off and grab the wood. She just stood there like an idiot. I made her go inside after that and did the rest myself. Your table would have made things a little easier!

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif yea that has happened to me more then once, not as bad but when the cuts go from like 20" and bend out to 26" thats a piss off. lol and it happens every time too:crap:

heres a rendering of what it will look like somewhat. i did it ina few minutes so its not to scale or whatever haha. the pieces in orange will flip out and when not in use fold up nicely and sit agains the sides

great idea there. If i had a set workshop i would build something similar to that also, but i have to move my table saw around from time to time.

thanks. yea i have the garage to work with, but it will need to be moved every now and then but it wont take more then a few minutes to puull her out:)

That's why I rip things down to a workable size with a circular saw. I couldn't imagine wrestling a 4x8 by myself...
Yea, I try to do that when I can but sometimes, it's just not possible. I had to make a 55" cut yesterday and there was no way in hell I was going to be able to pull that off by myself without either ****ing up the cut or losing a finger.

i wish my table saw could cut a big sheet, to manageable sizes. but that also means getting that big panel under control and managing it while cutting it.

for now ill stick with the circular saw and a guide for cutting the big panels in to smaller ones, before getting them on the table saw.

one thing that i was looking in to get was a panel saw, like what home depot got. i have a wood working magazine that has the blue print for making one.

maybe when i take vacation for a month or something.

but that drawing looks very good. bro, looks like it will be very handy specially in a small shop, with them folding tables on it.

good luck building it and post pics, if you can of the build .
