I was curious to what the point of making an obnoxiously large box for a single 12 would achive? Ive seen videos before of people putting speakers like this in huge vented and sealed boxes... does this increase the low freq response
Makes the sub more efficient...but also makes the mechanical power handling a lot lower(ie: it'll unload a lot easier). If you're competing in an organization that does classes based on wattage(like the one I compete in), then it's great to use a big box when you don't have enough power to properly push the sub.
I use a big box for my 2500 watt sub that I only have 1500 watts for(in order to stay in the lower power class)...works out great for me.
the T2's I have sound great, still I wonder If it can sound better. The T2 requires 2.25 cu ft of airspace, I'm right at about 2.5 yet my slot is only 2" wide. I'm not sure that will make up for the extra airspace.
