an 18" has an sd of about 1200cm^2, the vas for those beasts is about 600l, the mms is usually much greater, and the Fs is MUCH higher than 95% of the 18s on the market

Close (well, not really)....Just for example....

Vas of the Fi Q 18" is 238L

Vas of the eD 19Ov2 is 228L

Vas of the previous RE XXX 18" is 244L

Vas for the RE SX 18" is 159L

Vas for the IDW18 was 300L

Vas of the Aurasound 18" neo sub is 322L

the mms is usually much greater,

Not hard to find an 18" sub with around 150g of Mms

and the Fs is MUCH higher than 95% of the 18s on the market

SX 18" has an Fs of 33hz, the prior 18" XXX had an Fs of 29hz, Fs of the IDW18 is 30hz.

Right there are three, and it only took me about 2 mintues to find those three.....

And the Fs if the 18" Q is 23hz...not that far off from 28hz.

The only 18" off the top of my head that was popular in car audio with a lower than normal Fs (or lower htan most all 10's and 12's for car audio) was the Avalanche 18 with an Fs of a infrasonic pounding 16Hz.

MMS is entirely dependant on cone material and coil it uses, just because the 18" of sub X has a larger mms than the 12" of sub X doesnt mean the mms of 18" Sub X is greater than most all other A-Y and Z subs.

a Vas of 600l is extremely soft. I dont even know if you would find that in pro audio. I'm sure there is a sub or two out there.

Anyway vas is entirely dependant on the suspension.
