System Upgrade - could really use some help.

Newbee here. Been lurking for a while but recently joined forum because Im ready to pull the trigger on a system upgrade. I’ve read countless threads and am now at the point of getting more confused the more I read.

I have a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD. Few years old but I still like it a lot. Im looking to add a nice sub and amp to my set-up, which is in a 04 4Runner.

I’m still running my OEM speakers and really don’t want to swap them out if I don’t have to (at least at this point). Perhaps once I get my amp/sub set up I’ll consider it.

From the posts I’ve read Im considering…..

1: SUB: For space reasons, I’d like to add only 1. Im considering SSA or Ascendant Audio

-SSA: ICON 12" 1250W

-SSA: XCON 12 Sound Solutions Audio 12" 1750W

-SSA: Z v3 12" Sub woofer 1500W

-Ascendant Audio: HAVOC 12 (1250 RMS)

2: BOX: Will prob do custom. Heard double 07 does a nice job

3. AMP: here is where I get confused. Was considering Audioque or Crescendo, but read a bad article on Crescendo so Im considering Audoque. But I havent been able to understand ohm matching...so I have no idea which Audioque to consider.

4. Battery: I hope I dont have to add a new one. But would be interested in your views.

5. Big 3: Do I need this upgrade based on the size of the upgrade Im considering?

6. Gauge Kit – I saw a ton on knukonceptz.com but I have no idea which gauge kit I need.

7. Other: I know I need RCA and remote cable – I think I can figure these out.

Really would appreciate your guidance on the above points.

Many thanks!

I'd do the xcon paired with either the aq 2000 or crescendo 2000. Crescendo makes great products fyi. And their pretty budget friendly. You will deffinetly need the big 3 upgrade and extra battery and possibly a high output alternator for that kind of power. You'll want to get a dual 2 ohm sub so you can wire it at 1 ohm. All that paired up with a nice custom box will be bangin.

You'll want 1/0 power and ground wire I forgot to mention

Power wire will be determined by which amp. Also a dual 2 ohm sub so you can run whatever amp at 1 ohm to get full power. The big 3 is a definate yes. In 0 gauge not sure on your alt size my 92 4 runner was only a 60 amp so yours maybe the same. I swapped mine out for a gm 1 wire 260 amp alt. worked fine just needed a small bracket and swap the plug. When I sold my 4 runner I kept the alt Anyway hope this helps
