System shuts off -- HELP!

its plain and simple man.if your lights are dim without a system,u made it worse by adding a system before you fixed the first problem.if the wiring in the vehicle is good, then you will have to get a bigger battery plus a bigger alternator and possibly new starter wires and any wiring that looks bad, cracks in it or that looks corroded.your electrical has to be in good working order.

Well I we replaced a little wire going to the alt and it fixed my head light problem, and that was without a system. Then I got my system in, and it was all good until my dad put on new battery terminals. He was anal about my pos terminal being like craked. So we put on new terminals, and didnt work so we tried diff ones. Now, I think im going to put on this gold Audiopipe multifeed terminal on. Its wierd that it happened when we replaced battery terminals

ok so i put on the new terminal and nothing changed.

when i turn my lights on, my alternator switch goes way down

then when i hit the brakes the switch goes even lower and if i hold it down my car will die

and that happens without my system even on. if i have my lights on my hu wont even turn on

I hope its not a crappy alt. I just took it to my mechanic, maybe he can find the short or w/e it is. I should of taken it to the audio shop but I have some engine trouble too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I told him about how my car will die if I come to a stop with my head lights on, and how when I hit the brakes or turn siginal, my system shuts off AND how when I really turn up the bass my system will die.

by the way, how much are alternators? Just a normal one, not a HO. Just something that I guess can handle my system if thats what it is.
