Tested the system for the first time today. First, the CDA 7998 has a feature that directs power to the RCA's OR the AI-net output. i spent a good hour wandering around cursing thinking my head unit was broken when it turned on but no sound came out. After pulling up the wiring diagram, i found that there was a small switch on the side of the head unit chassis to switch the output to the AI-net. Problem solved and no $$ spent.
Since the system is still un-tuned, i decided to just hear what it sounded like. my initial reaction is OMG...it's awesome. The head unit is just so cool and cranks out SQ like the old Alpines are renound for. I've worked with the ERA G320 before and it works like a charm. I especially love the digital time correction and the adjustable BBE processing. I'm very impressed with the Audiocontrol Epicenter 150 Subwoofer harmonics processor. The Bass restoration circuit does wonders for low end frequencies and really brings the Jl12v6v2 to life. I never knew a subwoofer could make those sounds.
I had to make a new mount for the ERA G320 display as the one i originally had broke. I'll have pics up on wednesday of a hopefully rebuilt interior.
