system help 08 infinity g37 coupe

Hey guys. I am looking at adding a system to my 08 G37 Coupe, and I am not quite sure what I would like to go with. This car is not equipped with the Bose system, and in the door I currently have an 8", a 3", and a tweeter. In the rear deck I believe I have 6x9s and another tweeter. (I could be wrong on that.) I of course want to add more bass, but I would also like to upgrade the highs.

I went to Car Toys today and spoke with one of the installers, and after asking me the type of music I listen to, which is a little of eveything, but leans towards metal, he recommended that I go with 3 JL Audio W3 8s, a JL Audio HD 900/5, an Audiocontrol LC81, and a Focal Component set up front, the Focal Polyglass 165 VB. He also recommended putting some cheaper Focals in the back, which I dont think I need. After installation, dynamat for the trunk, box building, etc., the quote was up over 4500 bucks, which was a bit rich for my blood.

I was looking at spending about 2k out the door, but I also don't really want to sacrifice good sound.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on items I could possibly acquire online and get installed that would get me the same type of sound I heard today. Thanks a ton for the help in advance!

First off, don't do that. Second of all, listen to the advice people give you here. They aren't trying to pocked $3000 of that $4500 off of you...

Thirdly, get someone local from here to help you with the install (pay them of course). Most of them enjoy helping others. Especially for a few beers

Personally, I'd toss 2 sundown or DD 8's or an Fi Q in the back, and get a CDT component set or go ahead and get the focals. As for amps, you can get better for your money the JL...

Sundown or Zed would outperform them along with quite a few others. I'm sure others will chime in to help you out

Dude tried to **** your wallet. You'll have that on big jobs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
That is the only reason I don't like local shops. If you don't know what you're talking about, they take advantage of you and your wallet. They WILL completely rip you off. I've been to only a handful that are always only trying to make the honest buck. The rest try to rip you off completely.

do they make a dash kit for that car?
I'm not sure if they make a dash kit for my car, but I do want to keep my factory receiver, as it is very integrated into many other functions of the car. That was the reason I thought I could use something like the Audiocontrol LC8I. Is that correct? Also, I'd lve to find someone local on here to help me out with the install! Thanks for all the replies guys. I was pretty sure CarToys was trying to take me to the cleaners. Which CDT components would you guys recommend? It looks like the prices are all over the board for them.

Your stock electrical system may throw a wrench into this, but it might not be a problem at all. If anything, you may have to upgrade your battery and perform the big 3...

Thanks Misfit. This looks like a great setup. The only thing I wonder is if 8s would be better for tight puncy base than the 12. I've never heard an idmax sub, so I could be way off on that. Let me know.
