SX vs ....

i was really considering to purchase a pair of sx 12's before because i wanted to be able to have a sub that would work in my existing box. but i have decided that i am willing to build a new box so i am wondering which other subs are better than the SX in my situation.

THE DRIVER MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS!!!!!

must be 12(s).

i have an american bass xd2000 for power so im looking at about 2000-2200 rms @ 1 ohm so they must do as good or better than the SX on this power.

the largest box i can fit into my trunk would be at maximum 2.5 cubes for each sub and i would prefer to go ported for obvious output reasons.

subs and port will be firing forewards into cabin, most of the time the seats will be folded down and its going into a 2000 Chrysler 300m.

i want these to be able to hit the lows very hard as well as having good upper end bass.

$500 budget.

why must it be a 12? why not do a single sub setup, say a 15" RE XXX or Fi BTL in 5 cubes?

but yeah, theres so many 12" subs out there the options are endless. Cant go wrong with RE, Fi, DD, or pretty much any sub setup that high end. Find something that you like the looks of, see if it meets your specifications, etc etc

wow so the sx is really that good then? cuz i can get a pair for 445 shipped i figured there had to be somthing better for an extra 55 bucks.

my rear deck opening is only 14.5 inches high so idk how i would fit a 15 in there unless i put it at a slant but then i would have to make my box deeper in order to make up the lost volume and then i wouldnt be able to get to my spair tire. besides wouldnt 2 12's get louder than 1 15 anyways because of their large combined area?

sx are proven to be loud *** subs time and time again. are there better subs yea. but in ur price range? its an toss up imo. 2 12's 6 cubes 33hz and that should be more than enough for u

i cant use 6 cubes tho. i can use 5. should i tune lower or higher to make up the difference?

alright that was my plan. 5 net cubes tuned to 32 hz im trying to hit 140+ on music so i hope thats gonna be enough even for my huge car.

And as for posting a score of 140+ on music, there are too many variables to say for sure, but that seems like it should be a reasonable goal to achieve.
