Nice! i cant wait to get these and one up everyone agian hahaha. My pair of kappa perfect 12.1's on 1000 rms used to be the loudest system in and around my town. this is just gonna be stupid loud i hope.

i wish someone would come and visit to show me up and so i could actually prove to my friends that prefab boxes **** and that there is so much better equiptment they could have gotten if they were willing to spend about 5 min doing research (no one ever listens to me, they all think im a "know it all" and smart ***, even tho they will openly admit that my system blew theirs away lol). all the kids that i went to high school with that have systems have either type s's in a prefab box (even tho i told all of them i would build them custom boxes for 100 bucks. idiots) or xplods or somthing from bestbuy or circuit city lol. every person whos system ive seen usually dosnt know anything about it, cept for the brand of sh1t they have. ill ask em how many watts is your amp they will have like a kenwood with 60 amps of fuse or somthing and they reply 1800 and i'll just laugh and be like no rms, then i get a look like im from another planet, lol. its pretty funny tho i just laugh at them all like this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif

sx are proven to be loud *** subs time and time again. are there better subs yea. but in ur price range? its an toss up imo. 2 12's 6 cubes 33hz and that should be more than enough for u

i was really considering to purchase a pair of sx 12's before because i wanted to be able to have a sub that would work in my existing box. but i have decided that i am willing to build a new box so i am wondering which other subs are better than the SX in my situation. THE DRIVER MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS!!!!!

must be 12(s).

i have an american bass xd2000 for power so im looking at about 2000-2200 rms @ 1 ohm so they must do as good or better than the SX on this power.

the largest box i can fit into my trunk would be at maximum 2.5 cubes for each sub and i would prefer to go ported for obvious output reasons.

subs and port will be firing forewards into cabin, most of the time the seats will be folded down and its going into a 2000 Chrysler 300m.

i want these to be able to hit the lows very hard as well as having good upper end bass.

$500 budget.

yea those icons will def fit the bill..i havent heard anything bad about them and the price is right..they will have about the same output of an sx but sound cleaner...and i run an sx..either way you can't go wrong...i want 2 12" icons for my new setup..should wang

I really loved my SX's, had two 15's but quickly found that my granprix did not have the proper trunk space to allow them both to breathe. I kept one and played the heck outta it on two Kicker SX1250's, for almost 2 years and sold it to dude which to this day I think still bumping that sub! 1000-1500 rms per sub in a common chamber, 5.5cf net tuned to 35-38 hz with 50 sq in of port, drivers side you should be real happy!
