SX not loud enough..

have you had another sub and amp on that Jensen HU? when I installed my 9312 my sx's and Memphis mc2000d was pitiful.. That HU has terrible preout voltage... I put a eq/linedriver on it and it made 200% difference

I havent completely read your thread but i suspect this as the problem.. seeing as I had a similar experience
