Switchable Input Sensitivity

one more question. will this amp really even hurt this sub. for i had the saz-2000d running full tilt and subs never got hot but like once when i was playing like a 28hz songs for like 5 or mins. were when i can play like 40hz and up all day and sub never smells?

i would be a lil careful playing that low with the HDC... mechanical limits are a big factor with playing lower, and the spiders on the HDC3's have been known to have problems with seperation... it all depends on your particular set up, so its hard to say for sure, it will or wont hurt your sub, all i can really say, is be careful with it

ok. i mean was just curious what it sounded it like. i never really go that low. on daily the lowest i go is about 37hz. when i go to comps i run 42hz.

yea i have heard about the spider problems though.

People be hatin on the low preouts. I've been running 2v for a while and haven't noticed any issues. OP set your amp to 2v-8v and turn it so it's at 2v, and for the sake of being safe about it just turn it slightly to the 8v. If you have a DMM to tune it with you can use that, there is a thread here on how to do it.

heres the difference jesse. are you a competitor like he is? for a competitor i wouldnt run a 2v signal. for everyday it doesnt really matter.

to account for the dynamics of music, as well as varying recording levels used on media, a 3 to 1 gain ratio is not uncommon. if you have a 2v hu and you set your gain at 2v, you may not get much output out of the amp. switch your setting to the 100mv - 2v setting, then set your gains. the 2v to 8v setting would be seldomly used. in some cases where a line driver might have like 8+ volts of output, and this would be only useful really, when you have a crap ton of amps hooked up for spl competition use. 2v will typically have no trouble with noise issues, it should be fine.
