Switch for Amp

Yo everyone,

how's it going?

I got a question regarding toggle switches. I have an older clarion deck that doesn't have a sub turn on and turn off. I was wondering if adding a switch to turn the amp on and off is a good idea. I'm not saying bass is not good, it's just that sometimes, i wouldn't want bass. Let me know about yall think. Thanks.

Yeah that should work fine. Switch the remote lead of the amp though, not the power wire. How big is the amp, you may want to consider a relay. Make sure no matter what the amp shuts off with the ignition.

dO you mean switch the remote wire from the deck? I will plan to install 2 amps. A 300/4 and 500/1. I was thinking of having one remote turn on wire turning into 2 turn on wires. One will have a switch and the other won't. Does that sound right? Thanks

Edwin
