sw8200 discontinued!? whats next?

So i placed my order for a eclipse sw8200 sub 4 weeks ago, and I called today wondering whats going on with my order. they told me the sub is no longer made...$&!#, I have an infinity 1221a amp, 840rms @ 4ohm 1200 @ 2ohm. I like sq but also like some decent volume, i thought that sub was perfect.

my new choices

1. mtx 12" 9500 getting 1200 rms

2. Polk SR 12" getting 840rms

both will go in a 1.3^3 sealed box with some poly fill and can get both for about the same price.

I drive a Ford Fusion.

I have not heard either sub

Id get the SR but im just not convinced the output will be there,

Id get the 9500 but i dont want it to sound like wet farts.

Just like some other clowns on here i work for circuit city and get discounts on these subs, as much as id like a re or w7 i dont have the cash for that

haha seriously? i can get a "brand new" can of coke form 1954 on ebay. just because its on ebay doesnt mean its still made. anyway that sub is out. im looking for input on the other two subs. thanks

You wanted the sub, so I gave you a link to buy it.

Why are people who work at Circuit City so up tight about only buying from Circuit City? The prices aren't that great for employees... or has that changed?

Since they don't sell them anymore (meaning it's not against store policy if you tell us the price), what was the price they were offering for the sw8200?

If I had to choose between the three, I would take the sw8200 over the others any day of the week, even if the others were half the price.

Yea i know i loved that sub. i could get the sw8200 shipped for 115. its an speical offer where we can order right through the company. I get it from kicker, eclipse, pioneer, and polk. instore discounts arnt anything speical tho. so thats the reason for the limited selection. I'm not a fan of kicker subs tho, i like the amps but an l7 to me sounds like garbage, and my concern was the 9500 was going to sound similar.

I know about the factory direct pricing but when I had friends that worked there, the direct pricing was about what you would pay online before shipping. My friend bought two 12" L7s when he worked there and paid about $140 each which I didn't think was that great of a deal. The $115 shipped for the sw8200 is a pretty nice deal. I didn't like the sound of the 9500s I have heard and the sw8200 was far more pleasing.

Yep, only staying here for one more semester and then I'm gone. I prefer things a little smaller.

ha, isn't it the best when us circuit city employees go to order something and they've discontinued it without telling us. I've got two sw8000's and went to order a third when I heard they were discontinued. if you want volume, stay away from the polks, killed one of those with a zx750.1 in less than a day after break in period.
