ok so im really needing to get my truck off my hands so i can get a bike.

went to the local superbike store and talked and kicked it with one of the sales guys for a few. and i really liked the feel of the gsx-r600 underneath me, versus the kawasaki ninja 636 and the Yamaha R1.

the kawasaki is cheaper but the gixxer feels better. the r1 isnt to bad either.

has anyone had any experience buying a used bike? cause my dad is wanting me to buy a new one but i really cant afford a brand new aprilia, which is what iwant or a brand new hayabusa.

but the problem wit that is, this is going to be my first bike and i KNOW i dont need no 1300 CC bike for a starter bike so i wanna start on the 600.

feedback please guys.

if this is your first bike buy something like a old sport bike or a smaller engine bike. I would recommend a ninja 250r as a starter. if your determined in picking between those bike il say a gsxr since i own one.

Buying a used beginner bike would be a better start for you. Look for a 600 that's a few years old to learn on. Check out Craiglist; Cycletrader or Egay for good deals on used bikes. Find one that is below KBB or Nada, so that if you only have it for about 6 months, the depreciation will not hurt you for re-sale value.

Definitely do NOT start out on a 1000 or above, learn from others mistakes.

dont buy a 6 or you will be selling it in a year (wate of money) go 750 and I would go Suzuki... you could buy a used 750 but keep in mind if you are financing a used bike most deals on new bikes that are out now are better!!! used bike=loan from bank=must carry insurance... new bike in my state at least you only have to carry state min. something to think about.

i just began riding please don't start on something with that big of an engine, i agree with guy who said start on ninja 250r, but if you don't wanna listen cbr FTW

**** all these people saying don't get a big bike for your first, get whatever you want but don't be a ****ing retard on it and you'll be fine.

you will die just as quick on a 250 as u will on a busa if you are going too fast, and yes 250's are fast too.

i dunno....

i think 200 would kill you quicker than 115, or w/e those 250r's top out at.

i'd get a used gsx-r 750.... personally. Being that its your first bike... The 750's generally have a little nicer power... although if you don't know how to handle a bike.. a 600 will get you in a bind pretty quick too.

I've been stashing cash for a leftover 09 gsxr-1000 when the 10's come out.. but that definitely won't be my first bike.

Do NOT buy the Aprilia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt live with myself with you buying one and shortly there after laying it down. I dont care which one of those you buy....you will be going down. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! You can say all you want you will take it easy, go slow, not be stupid, whatever but you will be going down. Period. It happens to all of us. Just dont hurt the pretty Italian...mine is safely in my garage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i've been entertaining the idea of getting a bike. and i hang out with alot of guys that are involved with a biker "club" and they all have told me start with atleast a 600. my buddy started with an R1 that way when he got comfy after a few months he didn't have to waste money on a bigger bike. i dunno everyone will have there own opinion on this subject but...when it comes to my time buying a bike, my starter will be a gsx-r750.

any 600 you fell comfortable on is a good start, but like one guy said, you will go down, eventually...You get to feel comfortable and start to push your limits and it happens sooo ****ing fast...I was lucky, you might not be...GL and please buy riding gear and a good helmet, arai or shoei, do not buy cheap and a helmet is not a helmet...
