yeah 500cc 2 stroke GP bikes do 239mph and they weigh 275lbs have 200+ hp rev to 15k and are just ****ing beasts...sad dude died at bonneville but shit happens real quick at 240...

why?? everybody recommends lighter bikes or ones with smaller engines. is there a difference?

Because the MotoGP bikes are 2 stroke. Not legal because of emissions. And anyway MotoGP has put a stop to them because they are getting too fast, too many wrecks, etc.
