Survey: Xbox 360 failure rate is 54.2%

I have had to send mine it twice.. The first time they messed up on my address so I didnt get the box for awhile, but the second time it took 6 days from me to ship it to get it back. I got this little playstation here and its a big paperweight
when i sent mine in the second time it was sent to texas and everything was overnighted. the second time i got to speak with an english speaking person and got a phone number to his direct line for any questions i had. it was a much better experience than the first time where it all took like 3 weeks total.

Wonder what the next generation of games will be like? Graphics can't get much more powerful, I expect the leaps foward in the industry will be easing programming to make it possible to utilize the console's full potential. IE: alot of good games don't get programmed for PS3 cause its so dam hard to do it.

360 elite in hizzuh.
i used to PC game, but found it annoying as i'd have to constantly upgrade computer hardware to keep up with todays gaming.
And this is the main debate point between console gaming and pc gaming...

A console system typically runs a 5yr life before they get upgraded.

A console system will always be able to play a game that was made for it.

A console system never has to be upgraded itself, just replaced every 5 yrs.

A pc needs to be upgraded in itself before 5yrs typically and then sometimes the entire system which really eats a whole in the pocket.

A pc will not always be able to play a game which goes back to the need to update..

Now, i rarely have time to play games but when i do, i am purely a pc gamer.

But why after the negative posts i made about pcs?

Well, PC games look WAY BETTER than a console system's graphics.

Consoles have greatly improved though but still not caught up yet.

A year or two after the PS3 was released, 1600p monitors started being marketed... Oh yea!

A pc has total control over the resolution output and can make a game look as good or bad as you need it too!

A pc has more options for controller configuration, quicker load times because you have control over everything, and the ability to improve performance of a pc game!

That last point is critical because some console based games may lag for a second or two at very high demanding scenes which may lower fps below 30 and cause a slow down effect to occur then resume normal operation.

There are ups and downs to both sides...

It's true that a pc will cost more in the long run to keep up with gaming but what you get is a lot more than console gaming.

It's funny, but some of my friends who play games i like on the pc on their xbox or playstation, i have to use the controller adapter so i can use my mouse and keyboard on their console system because i hate to use controllers for 1st or 3rd shooters.

Others can back me up on this, you can't reach your maximum potential with a controller, need to use keyboard and mouse and have total instantaneous control over movement and speed.

I was thinking that seemed kinda low and then they said it...I dont know of anyone who HASNT had to send it in, its pityful
ive sent mine in twice and the 2nd time couldnt of had more than 10hrs on it over the span of 2-3 months

im happy with my PS3 for now, still have 360 though, waiting on forza 3 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

and COD:MW2 on pS3
My thoughts exactly.

I have both the PS3 and the 360, and the PS3 only gets turned on on weekends to play Blue Ray discs. I don't use it for games (own 3 games for it) and "HOME" is a piece of sh*t gimmick for people that don't have lives and need to be walking around in a virtual world. It sucks. I know the PS3 has more "potential" but that potential hasn't been fully tapped into.

XBOX360 FOR GAMES (FOR NOW) AND PS3 FOR BLUE RAY MOVIES AND MEDIA.

i sent in my 360 3 times, 2 of the times i recieved a new one

Havent had a problem in about 8-11 months.

Waranty ended 2 months ago, i better not have another problem

My first xbox360 had a hardware failure after few years of use. Then I bought another and had the ring of death. I sold that to a coworker. Halo is addicting but not worth going through the hassles of owning another 360.

PCs are cool, but when you are getting beat by someone and it's because his computer is 3,000 dollars more than yours it can piss you off. Console Kinda levels the playing field a little better.
This. There are definitely bonuses to playing on pc though.

I've had close to 10 Xbox 360's, and each and every one of them have failed. I generally play between 2 and 3 hours a week, so it's not due to excessive use. My consoles have always been kept in a well ventilated area, and I live in a smoke free/pet free home too.

I know dozens of people who own, or have owned a 360, but only one person still has the original console he bought. 360 = junk.
