Supercap balancing board?

Researching for a potential installation of a bank of supercaps and I ran across balancing boards. A quick search of the forum came up with nothing of value. I understand they're intent is to keep each capacitor at the same voltage as the rest, but what's the real world say as to their value? Are they worth getting, or should I just stick with the aluminum straps when/if I buy?

Not needed when wired series. Even if you parallel them they balance..
