They have been talking about making it for a while. Plus they are filming another movie right now.

It's stupid how they plan on doing it...it's going to be in the 70's, the characters all being the fathers of the cops in the original.

Also, I heard it's just been announced...and they pushed back the production on it for another movie they are doing, and may not even do this movie..
