Super Start G31 AGM charging question

[OKAY]

I have a Schumacher speed charge with charging two charge rates o 3A power sport or 15A automotive/marine. Battery type options: standard, AGM or Gel.

I always use the 3A / AGM when ever I can over night. It will switch into maintaining after charged. All normal.

If the battery charger has automatic battery type selection why does it choose the Gel battery type?

The battery is brand new and right out of the store it was 12.7 and always rests at 12.7 most the time 12.6
