super noob question!

haha i basically just brain farted!

so wiring up my door speakers to my amp!

right now they are connected to my eclipse deck!

i have the amp plugged into the "rear" RCA jacks on the deck!

where do i run the wire from the door speakers to my amp?!

right from the door speakers?!

or from behind the deck, do i cut the wires and run longer speaker wire back to my amp!?

actually, it should be like a clip that you can remove, don't cut it if you can't help, and run the wire from your speakers to your amp

better to run new speaker wire from amp to speakers

your choice man. depends how you feel. If you think the existing wire is of sufficient size to work for you, go straight from behind your deck and use factory wiring. If not, run all new wires from doors to amps. I have done both many times.

im not pushing a lot of watts or anything so i think factory speak wire should be fine for now!

one more question!

cut it on the wiring harness that i had to buy or behind the facory clip?!

either way.. i would personally go behind the harness but really wont matter much.

I'm confused as to what you're trying to do?

Are you just pulling out the factory speaker wire and using it to run it to the new amp?

had my door speakers wired straight to my head unit!

just installing an amp to run my door speakers off to get better sq!

so that didnt go well! lol

i cliped the front left speaker wire behind the harness and ran the speaker wire to the amp!

just to see if it worked i turned my deck on and no sound was playing at all!

not even from the right door speaker (i didnt touch it or the wires at all)

the deck was working, playing a cd, then i hear a little pop, deck turns off and then it smelled all burnt!

well,, if thats the case you definately did not cut and attach the correct wire.

are you using a DMM?? if you cut a wire that was no longer attached to your deck, regardless if it was the correct or incorrect wire this would not harm your deck, only potentially your amp.
