super noob question!

well,, if thats the case you definately did not cut and attach the correct wire.
it doesnt make sense!

on the deck it said the white wire was positive FL speaker! and white/black for negative!

so thats wat i connected to the amp!

oh well. guess i need a new deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

ya bro im an idiot!

lol UGH!!

i connected the wires FROM BEHIND THE DECK TO THE AMP! so the postive and negative speaker wire coming OUT OF THE DECK!

not from the speakers to the amp!

haha wow! just wasnt thinking!!

good thing it was a $30 old school eclipse deck i got off of craigslist!

haha ya its pretty much burnt!

but i have an ALPINE 9853 laying in my room!

my friend just gave it to me cus he didnt know if it worked or not!

anyway to tell if its good or bad other than plug it in?!

i just loosly connected the yellow, red and ground wire to it to see if it worked and it didnt turn on!

because most likely you blew the fuse to your power and switched when you did what you did. check your fuses and also maybe test the HU right at the battery to make sure the HU is good.

Theoretically yes, as mentioned though you prolly blew your fuse in the car not just the inline fuse for the HeadUnit. So before you assume the Apline is scrap, make sure your fuse panel fuses are all good. Then yes, yellow red and black are the only 3 needed for it to power on. If it still doesn't work then yes, your friend may have given you a junker.
