Sunroof question

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry LE and it has a sunroof. The piece of plastic that goes under the sun roof rattles so I added a little folded rag under the sun roof arm and it stopped the rattle. My only question is will this cause any problems? It doesn't leak when I pour water on it.

I actually put rags in my sunroof too. As long as it doesn't interfere with your seal, you should be good

Yes it still closes and opens fine. I just didn't know if it would hurt anything during the long term.

I don't have a sunroof, but I'd look into closed-cell weatherstripping foam tape. It's a few bucks a roll, adhesive, works well as a decoupler, and is waterproof to boot. I put some between parts of the car that rattled, like in the glasses holder, ashtray, and trunk latch and it works wonders. It's also nice add to a sub mounting bracket to make an airtight seal.
