Sundown's current hungry??

Im getting a good amp this time and have already done the big 3 but with 4 gauge. I have a 2000 Silverado with a 105 alt and a red top and have always had to use a cap on previous amps, but I want to do away with it if I can. Will the Sundown 1000d draw too much or should I get a 180 alt or even a kinetik 600 or batcap 300?Untill I upgrade my subs, I will be running at 2ohms.

You'll be fine.

Get a bigger battery if you can, I ran two of these off my stock alt and a YT34.

Thanks guys, Ive had 2 mtx amps and they always dropped my voltage on heavy notes and I just thought the sundown would make it even worse.. Should I even think about putting the cap back in or getting a batcap?

A batcap or small Kinetik would be better than the capacitor.

yeah don't bother with the capacitor... my current setup with that amp in my sig is not even touching the reserves of my 9A31 trunk battery.

Draws 96 amps max (I think, it was around 96) current draw, so a spare battery will be the ost you'll need, IF THAT. Just do big 3

You should be fine. I'm running a toyota tacoma with all stock electrical running a Sundown 1500 at 2 ohms with 1/0 power wire and battery ground and I have no dimming whatsoever.

I ran my SAZ1500 at 1 ohm in my Blazer with stock electrical and no extra battery, no dimming.

Good deal guys, I appreciate your help. After this Im going to get some good 6.5 components with maybe a sundown 2 channel amp. Then I'll probally say its good unless I keep reading these forums!
