I think that the SA8 is one of the best all around subs that I have ever owned. You can throw 2x rated at them (at least I did) and they play pretty clean and get pretty low. They are also monsters and for under 100 bucks, ****. They SA8s are responsible for starting a real car audio craze in the area. my buddy now has four and im about to buy a couple more. We cant wait to get the X 8 to play around with when it comes round.

In addition to that, fuller is a great guy and goes way out of his way to help you even if hes not gonna profit. too nice sometimes.

Jacob- Did you ever imagine that Sundown would end up as big as it is today? Or did you have high goals already set for yourself lol

currently have about 1200rms on a SA12 (very clean power, no bass boost, low gain)...sundown laughs at it.

Despite the fact that they make a great product, I think their strongest point is customer service. A 600w sub handling 1200w is pretty impressive...but having a near 100% satisfaction rating is more impressive. I have never once heard a complaint about Sundown CS..

In my imagination... sure I thought it would be great one day. In my more reality based thinking it just didn't occur to me that it would grow so fast. I imagined I'd be where I am now in about twice as much time.

I was pretty set on a Kenwood amp, but after reading all this I think I may go with two SAX 125.2's.

I know the forums love Sundown, but (This is for owners and Sundownz himself), why are the amps so much better? What makes Sundown such a great company in its youth?

Ditto. He keeps coming out with new stuff, and the fact that he'll upgrade/change things for the next batch coming in just shows that he's always trying to provide a better product.

They rate their amps at 12.8v unlike Kenwood who likely rates them at 13.8 or 14.8 volts. Sundown amps are over built as far as internals go where as most Kenwoods are pretty bare. Sundown doesnt have cheap internal parts, Kenwood does. The tolerances on the caps in the Sundowns will be much closer, the Kenwoods wont.
