Remote turn on not working

Today I was drivin around listenin decently loud, all of a sudden all music stopped. I check it out and none of my amps are on. The remote wire is daisy chained from one amp to the next, to the next. 1, is this okay? and 2, what do I do now lol

and, check at the head unit.... could have damaged the remote wire. if you can, find the rated remote current, or resistace, and calc. the current they draw. rule of thumb is 3 things off the deck, but never know..

Yep, different brands/models of decks can handle different numbers of peripherals off their rem output, but the rule of thumb is 3. Anything above that, use a solenoid triggered by the rem wire from the deck, and through-put current coming straight from the battery. The bosche style fuse you commonly see is what most people use for this application.

How many did you have daisy chained together? You probably blew your deck's rem output. This will mean it will need to be opened up and repaired. The less ideal fix would be to run a wire from the batt to the rem inputs on the amps, with a toggle switch to allow you to turn the amps on and off manually. The last option, is a new h/u.

You can pick up a simple automotive relay from radioshack or ebay pretty cheap. I would suggest grabbing one of these and tapping your ACC wire (the red one that turns your radio on when the car starts) It will turn on your amps when the car is on only. You can probably hook the amps up straight to it (the rem wire) but to play it safe I like to put the relay on it. The relay pulls current from the battery, but only when it is triggered. you can trigger it with any voltage, basically it keeps the load off of whatever is the signal wire. IE, say you have 15 amps to run off your REM wire. you run the rem to the relay and then the amps are powered off the battery/relay instead of blowing your rem wire.
