Sundown Zv5 placement questions

So i own a 2016 honda civic and i have a zv5 12 in a 3.2 cu box @ 28 hz. My question is whether or not i should face forward or backwards. I've been happy with all my forward firing setups much more than the rear firing setups in the past. But as far as maximizing the bass which is the most ideal solution when personal preference is ignored? Both the sub and port are in the same direction

well bro, there's not enough space to simply swap it. The amp is huge, the box is huge, there are two hc2400's in the trunk and there's a 4 channel. I'd have to have an entirely new amp rack to try this out. I dont want to waste time and money for a fail.

If its a permanant-ish build like that then if you have it currently facing forward into the sub cabin, Seal off the box from the trunk completely and seal off the rear deck, make sure no air or sound can get back into the trunk and you should be louder than if you fire to the rear.
