Sundown x 18 vs. Sundown Zv4 vs. your suggestion

Okay I plan on running an AQ/SQ 2200 on proper voltage, and will be using a 8.5 cf box aeroported tuned @ 26 hz in my Infiniti I35. I was wondering wheter or not the difference between the X and the Zv4 constitute a 200 dollar price difference.

All I really want it an 18 inch sub that has a buttload of excursion, and the ability to get low and not lose its breath, I am open to other suggestions, I really want the Zv4, but would benifit from extra money in my build, could I use less power, or could I find a cheaper woofer, and still be happy?

All I can say about the X is that I see too many of them showing up in classifieds for my liking. Normally when so many subs that were just released are coming up on the second-hand market, it's a cause for concern to me.

What's you actual budget for a sub? I tend to recommend the SSA XCON or IA Death Row if you can swing the ZV4 just out of personal preference for its sound signature.

well here is my problem I have like 900, but i can skim a little off of my checks after the holidays if need be, So I will say my budget is 1'300

but with that money i need a sub, amp, a new box, and 30' of wire

Probably because people think they want "the lowz" and realize that a substage that only plays 30hz and down doesn't really work for music at normal speed.

There's a pair of DC Neo 18's FS in the classifieds here. You're crazy to not buy one of those for the asking price if you have the money ESPECIALLY if you want an 18". They are extremely rare and should get very loud.

as long as i can play 28 and up..which 31 and up with authority is my main concern, im fine.
