Sundown VS Soundstream!?

How do you figure that:confused: 1500 watts with a MSRP of $799. No fucking thanks
ca.com jizzes everytime some one mentions sundown... fairly inexpensive is b.s. btw like already stated by annarbor
You 2 have to remember, this was said by a sundown dealer. Not a bad thing though. I've owned all 3 (sundown, soundstream, & AQ). Budget wise, I would say the AQ2200. If you have money to spend, and it's not an issue go with sundown. Ya the warranty is good with sundown, but you also have to think, how many of us actually stick with a sub, amp, speaker, etc long enough to worry about it. That's just my honest opinion.

Remember MSRP and what you will actually pay are 2 different things as well. However, yes, I do agree that Sundown is on the expensive side but I have personally had good luck with them so for now I will stick with them.

Re-Sale value counts as well if you don't stick with a product -- transferable warranty helps that!

I general won't put my 2cents into these types of debates but on this one I must.

I've used both companies products and liked them both, I'm currently a Sundown dealer and I have been a Soundstream dealer (both oldschool product as well as new product).

I can tell you this, almost every piece of equipment on the market today that has TRUE similar preformance figures are going to be very closely priced MSRP wise with the exception of escotric type products. I remember when the selling price on a Punch 45 was $500.00 and this was a 180watt amp, and this was less than MSRP and you sure as hell had no type of customer service like you get from Jacob and Sundown.

Let's look at another aspect of this also, it was stated earlier that most of use don't keep product long enough to worry about warranty, well I have to beg to differ on that one and for those that don't well let's look at it this way..... as a seller my used equipment can and will command a higher selling price if my prospective buyer know's that they are still getting a factory warranty on stuff they are buying from me and that they themselves can send it in and not have to worry about trying to ship it back to me first then have me send it in....So to me, that alone would give Sundown a hands down win by any standards.....but that's just my opinion.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D

Yet if you mention Sundown outside of ca.com and a couple of other forums, people will ask WTF is Sundown because they've never heard of it before.
I don't own Sundown products of any kind, but I would run Sundown over anything produced by a craptastic holding of Epsilon Electronics, Inc. For the record, Soundstream, PPI, Power Acoustic, Kole Audio, and SPL Audio are all owned by Epsilon!
That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. Power Acoustik has been known to be decent budget amp. I'm pretty sure PPI is owned by DEI though, not Epsilon.

Both are decent amps. Sundown does have a better company going right now . They do take care of thier customers, and ask thier opinions when making changes . Cant say the same for soundstream.
This is because Sundown is a small internet company and I would imagine most of their sales come from people from these forums, so opinions from Sundown's customers matter more to them.

Soundstream is owned by a rather large coorporation so they don't go out there and ask what their individual customers want, they cater to a different market tbh.

I dont think the new Reference line that SS put out is crap, They look solid I have yet to get my hands on one though.

I do like the transferable warrenty that Sundown offers, Very few audio companies offer that.

Having both a saz.1000d and a sax.50x4 currently running they sound great, look good and built well.

I only have played with Old School Soundstream and those amps are not even on the same level.

Sundown if you have the money, Might want to look into cadence?

I bought a sundown 1500d that was never installed for like $320 shipped. I thought it was a great amp. I think Jacob is doing a great job with his company too and seems very customer oriented. Some items become forum boners for a reason!

By the way, I've gone the cheap route plenty of times and when I bought a brand new Power Acoustik A2400DB it blew a few months later for no reason.

I've never taken AQ into consideration before,

In all aspects, AQ3500D vs Sundown 3500D

Do you know what the MSRP is on comparable products ? I'll give you a hint - it's very similar.
D-Tower 2200D has an MSRP of $599.95 and the SAZ-1500D will more than likely outperform it and has double the warranty period, a transferable warranty, and a discounted replacement program for 3 more years after the 2-year warranty is up. Try to get a warranty replacement on a Soundstream 1 year and 11 months later when you bought it used on a forum and see what happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You like Stetsom so lets compare their prices.. their MSRP is right in line with ours. The 2k5D has an MSRP of $1000 and our 2000D has an MSRP of $899 - in my testing the performance is similar on 12v.

Everyone knows your products are expensive, I did not say they were not worth it. And yes I am aware of the msrp, but your prices are not that far off from the msrp price, so.......

MAP is close to 30% less than MSRP -- and if you walk into a local shop they can hook you up for less than MAP.

I do control MAP online tightly because we do like to support our local retailers -- you know, the guys that hold the SPL competitions for people that buy our products //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
