Sundown VS Soundstream!?

I would imagine so. I'd say go look at an amp that does that power at 2ohm instead
what would you recommend?

You will be fine running that Soundstream down to .5 assuming it is a 1 ohm stable amp. When you wire it down to .5, rise will put you well above 1 ohm anyways:)

Sweet! thanks for the help.

and to the OP sorry for taking it off topic!

what would you recommend?
not a lot of options in those area. I'd say the kicker zx2500.1 but those are kinda pricey. JBL also has one, i think i saw one in the classifieds for 400. You might be able to find an autotek mean machine that does more at 1ohm and 2.5k at 2ohm. TBH, i'd go with the 2200D from AQ and run it at 0.5ohm.

How do you figure that:confused: 1500 watts with a MSRP of $799. No fucking thanks
Do you know what the MSRP is on comparable products ? I'll give you a hint - it's very similar.

D-Tower 2200D has an MSRP of $599.95 and the SAZ-1500D will more than likely outperform it and has double the warranty period, a transferable warranty, and a discounted replacement program for 3 more years after the 2-year warranty is up. Try to get a warranty replacement on a Soundstream 1 year and 11 months later when you bought it used on a forum and see what happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You like Stetsom so lets compare their prices.. their MSRP is right in line with ours. The 2k5D has an MSRP of $1000 and our 2000D has an MSRP of $899 - in my testing the performance is similar on 12v.

ca.com jizzes everytime some one mentions sundown...
Yet if you mention Sundown outside of ca.com and a couple of other forums, people will ask WTF is Sundown because they've never heard of it before.

I don't own Sundown products of any kind, but I would run Sundown over anything produced by a craptastic holding of Epsilon Electronics, Inc. For the record, Soundstream, PPI, Power Acoustic, Kole Audio, and SPL Audio are all owned by Epsilon!

Harrison Labs sells vertical mount amps also. I think the new dtower, reference and steath amps are pretty sexy but would choose the sundown over them any day.

well like everyone else already said... sundown is too expensive. and as for the soundstreams, they arent that bad really. Jon hone (team baldman) has his duly with 16 mb quart premium series 12's and ran all of them off 2 soundstream 2000 wrms amps. i cant remember what series the amps were. anyways. it pounded... i would just go with whats cheaper if money is an issue.. its not like the extra money is gonna make a huge difference in sound.

Both are decent amps. Sundown does have a better company going right now . They do take care of thier customers, and ask thier opinions when making changes . Cant say the same for soundstream.
