Sundown sd12 daily wattage question

Right now I have 2 Sd2 12s Dvc2ohm in a sealed box with a hifonics brx1600.1d. Amp is rated 1200@2ohm which is how I have them wired currently. I was thinking about getting rid of one and porting one. The box will be down firing with port on opposite end under crewcab chevy truck rear seat. Question is, can one sd12 handle that amp if I keep it at the 1200/2? I just bought the amp so I'm trying not to buy another. Also if I do this ported setup with one sd12 will it be louder than two sealed? Thanks!

Ok my amp isn't .5 stable so that's out if the question. But they are dual 2ohm voice coils so I couldn't run them at 1 ohm also right? I thought you could only take two 4ohms to 1ohm or 8 ohm but you could only take 2, 2 ohms to 2 ohm or .5 ohm. Isn't that correct? If so you are telling me to run one at 4 ohm to get 600w which is what my amp does at 4 ohm. In that situation 2 of the subs would still be louder in a sealed box with 1200w or 600 each than one ported with 600 correct?

Run it at 1 ohm and just be cautious with your gains. They can handle 1k clean in a good ported box. It'll be around the same output as what you have now. I would recommend buying or borrowing a clamp or oscope to set everything clean

You got dual 2 ohm woofers you can wire 1 in series and get just as loud with the right box as 2 woofers , my 1 sub sounds like 2-3 easily it shocks people there mouths drop
