The 12" prototypes are completed @ the factory and on their way to me... since I nailed things such as surround thickness & compliance down on the 10s these were pretty simple. We did have to use a motor 30mm wider to drive the additional mass; so keep that in mind when I formulate pricing :

* The machined arms are just on the prototype. I am not going to spend the extra to do that on production since there is no performance gain.

* Factory spec on the D4

* Factory spec on the D2

I got pricing worked out -- the SD-3 12" will be $225 -- the 10" is $199 -- these are MAP from any authorized dealer.

Mr. Sundownz, I am STOKED to put one of these subs (10) in my F-150. I was planning on purchasing this box (2009 & Up F150 Supercrew Dual Single Subwoofer Enclosure), but if I understand correctly, the internal volume may be excessive (I'm a bit new to this realm, so not sure if the .5^3 you quoted takes into account displacement)

If you have a minute to spare, can I get your thoughts on this?

Replying here to update information I've received from SD.

Optimal box air space before installing the sub is ~0.62 ft^3.

Approx .12 displacement.

I'm using two of the SD-3 10" subs in my Jeep Wrangler under the front seats. They are replacing SD-2s. Enclosure is .62 cu ft, powered by 500w each. Low end seems to be better and they sound great so far. Still tweaking EQ but I can tell you these things are even better than the SD-2s if that is possible. Best "shallow" woofer I've heard so far including Alpine, JL, Kicker, etc.
