Curious about actual rms power anyone has ran continually to sd-2 10inch at 1 ohm with no problems? Trying to decide between 2 & 4 ohm sub. Thanks for the help in advance
The impedance doesn't determine how much power the sub can take. You need to determine what ohm load your amp makes the most power at and use that to choose a voice coil configuration. SD-2s can take anywhere from 400-500 eassyyy.
No I got that, sry for the confusion, my fault...amp is rms 500 at 2 and 900 at 1. Heard sd-2 can take more than rated, just need to know how much more to decide which way to go. Again thanks for the help.
If u can get a clean unclipped 900w then it will handle it but if I were you I would wire it to 1ohm and set the amp to only send the sub 750w that way you know the amp isn't clipping
