Just a quick question on this. I just got it like 20 min ago. I was readin through the manual and it shoes the speaker connections kinda weird. If i just have 1 pos and neg wire can i just hook it up to one pos and neg speaker connections since its a monoblock amp. My nine.1 was like that. Is this just like it?

I'm going to hijack your thread, if you don't mind, because it looks like your question has been answered sufficiently. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Anyway, this is really concerning the SI Mag and Sundown 1500D. The rated RMS on the Mag is 950, and it is d2 configuration. Well, I think we all know that SI recommends powering the sub with a Sundown, but the Sundown pushes 1500 RMS at 1ohm. So my question is, what about the warranty, wouldn't it be voided by running more RMS? Does SI still warranty the Mags if you push it with a Sundown and 1500 watts?

Thanks for reading, and thanks for letting me hijack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That would probably be a question to ask SI themselves.

Just because you have an amp that is capable of that power, doesn't mean you have to send the speaker that much power...for some reason, a lot of people think you have to run your amps balls-out all the time.

I agree, it is probably a question for SI.

I don't think that at all. But I was under the impression the warranty doesn't ask how high your gains were set. Not trying to be a smartass, but don't most warranties get voided just by running an amp with RMS rating higher than the component you are pushing? I don't know, that's why I am asking.

And btw, if/when I get a Sundown + Mag, I plan on keeping the gain at 0 or close to it. I'm not considering a Sundown because of the extra power, but because of its quality and reliability.

Most warranties don't care what amp you use at all...but fried voice coils are a good indication to the manufacturer that someone was being naughty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Gotcha. Didn't know that. Thanks.

And I'll ask SI before I buy anything to make sure.

Sorry for the derail, I'm done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The only thing Nick is going to care about for warranty is the condition of the coil. If the coil is burnt beyond recognition that means you put too much power on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I ran an SAZ-1500D on a Mag D2 12" woofer in my previous car (new car is still under contruction but will use D2s for daily driving) for a year with NO issues... it's a fantastic combination.

Ok hey I have a new question. Would the Sundown be able to handle a .35 ohm load wired from a quad 1.4 voice coil sub? I don't know much about imp rise but would it put it over .5 ohms? And I imagine doing this would probably void the warranty?
