Sundown saz-2500

I'm having some trouble with my amp, it's a sundown saz-2500 hooked up to an AA Havoc. I set the gain appropriately not pushing it to much but every so often my amp completely shuts off and then will turn back on by itself. The protect light or nothing comes on it Jist completely turns off. I thought maybe it was getting to hot as it is behind my seat in a 2004 dodge ram but even with the seat folded down it does this. I can recheck all the wiring but I checked my ground and it's good so does anyone have any clues what might be going on? I can't afford to mess this amp up so any help please

Does anyoen think, maybe im not supplying enough power and my voltage is dropping causing this? Im looking to replace the battery in the front and the alternator. The only thing i found for alternators is a 230 amp but its 500 dollars. For the batteries im lost as i havent bought one to work with audio. Would one under the hood be enough or do i need to add another somewhere in the back? Also what is a good battery to use?

You are killing your amp. Your voltage must be running horribly low with only a factory alt and normal batt. With that kinda power I'd either run two deep cycle batteries like Deka G31's or an H.O. alt and one good batt.

Well luckily i havent ran it long so ive unhooked it, Ill have to check it in the morning but i have a volt meter to my battery and it never drops below 14, it moves but never lower then 14. Im gonna pick up the alternator, now i just need to figure out the battery situation.

Yall dont think i hurt the amp to much do yall? Im just gonna unhook everything until i can pick up what i need but it has me worried, ill be the first to admit it was stupid to run it with what i have but we all live and learn so do yall think its okay? I mean it still powers on and everything with no protection lights.

i am a stickler for overkill on electrical and you never know someone may want to run their amp at .5 one day the amp can draw quite a bit as is and iirc the bifgest bat he can fit up front will more than like just be a g34 which doesnt ofer much reserve and remember his truck will eat up a goo 100amps of the alt.

We also need to know what impedance he is running right now. If he's running 4 ohm and under 1k then an H.O. probably isn't even needed, just a new battery.

Its at one ohm right now but i think im gonna change. Im thinking i need the h/o alternator is need anyways as by the end of the summer im thinking ill be running 4 sa-12. As far as the dc website i cant find the fitment for my truck the only modesl i can find are my year but its for the cummins as i have the 5.7 hemi

He's got a havoc highly doubt he's running it at 4 ohms I am willing to bet he is at 1 ohm and voltage is dropping so low it cuts off. Then when voltage gets back up it kicks back on and repeats.
