This ^^^^^ sounds like you may have worn the subs tinsel leads out. Like the other guy said, set meter to OHMS or the little horseshoe looking (omega) symbol and put red on + and black on - and see what it reads, should be between 3.2-4.0 ohms. If you get nothing, then push on the sub's cone while you are holding the meter leads on (I know, need three hands) and see if you get a reading. If you only get a reading when you push down on the subs, then your subs are bad. Somewhere the tinsel leads are jacked up. You might could resolder them if the problem is right at the cone or right at the connectors on the basket.I tried pushing on the dust caps when i had them in the box and they played for a second. not very much though. then they cut out again. i'm gonna go check my subs right now.
