sundown SAX-100.4 test results?

I have looked here and at elitecaraudio.com I was trying to find if any one did a test like there has been with the SAX-1500.1 for what it puts out for power. I am guessing the thing is under rated and dose more like 125 a channel but didn't know if any one got bored and tested to see.

I dont think you have anything to worry about. I've never heard of ANY sundown amp not putting out rated power, though it is nice to know.

I know it will do rated I trust that. I want to use it on CDT ES 06+ or the CDT ES 06 and the most power I can get is the best seeing as how there rated at 160watts. Still not sure if I should go 2 or 3 way might end up going 3 way using my us amps 1000x for the modbass and that for the cdt es 04 and the tweeters. Other thought that I would like to do is es 06 or 06+ in doors and q forms with cdt es 02 tweeters in them. Not sure if the tweeters will fit in the kicks or if the mids will fit in my eg 92-95 honda civic doors without cutting the door pannel.

I would start out with 2 way. But you are going to want to put atleast 150x2 to the es-06+. I dont know what tweets your running but they would prolly need about 75-100x2. And if you do they es-04 same deal as the tweets.

If your hell bent on sundown.

Run a 100.4 to the 06+

and a 100.4 for the tweets and es-04.

It would be costly setup but it would sound so good. As long as you setup the imaging correctly as well as create the proper enviroment for all the speakers. For example enclosures for the 06+. I like me es-02 tweeters because of the widerange they have but if you running a 3way the drt-26 will be very nice as well.

I would run the es-02 and the es-04 or es-4 in the kickpods. If you get the q-forms you may end up having to reinforce them a little bit.

I should be happy with 2 way though 3 way I would just keep my 1000x and run it to the mids figure the 300rms x2 at 4 ohm it can do should serfice lol. Thanks for the info. Just means I need to get the new sub amp before I get new components.

The ES-06+ don't need rated power to perform very well, speaking as someone using them in a 2-way setup right now on a PG MS-275.
