Always Hurtin Ears!!
Ok guys I have a question about my sa15s and what box I should run.
Equipment:
2 sa15's currently in 2.5 cubic foot (each) sealed and chambered box.
Running off an audiopipe apsm2000 mini running in 2 ohm.
Head unit is an old alpine I hade laying around
Mid/highs are 4 infinity reference 6.5's running off a Phoenix gold ti 500.4 (also laying around in my closet) running in 2 ohm stereo. With the other 2 channels empty until I can afford an ID componet set (might go focal). the 6.5's are in stock locations in the doors.
Big 3 is out of 1 OT with 2 yellow tops (one under hood 1 in back)
This is all in a 02 rodeo SUV
My listening preference is sq with a bias towards spl on the subs (kinda a double negative I know but I like a quality mid/high set up with all the bass I can afford) lol
My question is regarding my sub box . Being as I listen to mostly rap/techno I have found that my sa15's are falling a little short on the really low stuff say below 45 hertz. I feel this is due to the the small sealed box I am running. Can anybody make a suggestion on what box I should be running? And I really do not have time to build one. Can someone help me out on where to look for a ported box that will compliment these subs..
I am really happy with the subs and for the money the little apsm 2000 is not to shabby especially considering I paid 75$ for the amp. I just really think I am not doing the subs any favors having them in the small sealed box. I have plenty of room in the back so space is not an issue.
I know I could use more amp on the subs but **** for 75$ that little apsm2000 does a hullva job. At 2 ohms it never gets hot and plays whatever I throw at it with ease ( I must say I was surprised ). My plan is to eventually upgrade my mid/high range as I have stated, as well as the sub amp when funds and the wife will allow . Aka work in progress , however in the mean time I want to get the most out of what I do have now...
So what box would you guys recommend I am thinking something like 3.5 cubes tuned around the 36-38 hertz rang. Is that about right?? And where can I find such a box to purchase (I just do not have the time to build it)??
Any help would be really really good!!
Thanx guys
