Sundown sa15 ported box??

Always Hurtin Ears!!
Ok guys I have a question about my sa15s and what box I should run.

Equipment:

2 sa15's currently in 2.5 cubic foot (each) sealed and chambered box.

Running off an audiopipe apsm2000 mini running in 2 ohm.

Head unit is an old alpine I hade laying around

Mid/highs are 4 infinity reference 6.5's running off a Phoenix gold ti 500.4 (also laying around in my closet) running in 2 ohm stereo. With the other 2 channels empty until I can afford an ID componet set (might go focal). the 6.5's are in stock locations in the doors.

Big 3 is out of 1 OT with 2 yellow tops (one under hood 1 in back)

This is all in a 02 rodeo SUV

My listening preference is sq with a bias towards spl on the subs (kinda a double negative I know but I like a quality mid/high set up with all the bass I can afford) lol

My question is regarding my sub box . Being as I listen to mostly rap/techno I have found that my sa15's are falling a little short on the really low stuff say below 45 hertz. I feel this is due to the the small sealed box I am running. Can anybody make a suggestion on what box I should be running? And I really do not have time to build one. Can someone help me out on where to look for a ported box that will compliment these subs..

I am really happy with the subs and for the money the little apsm 2000 is not to shabby especially considering I paid 75$ for the amp. I just really think I am not doing the subs any favors having them in the small sealed box. I have plenty of room in the back so space is not an issue.

I know I could use more amp on the subs but **** for 75$ that little apsm2000 does a hullva job. At 2 ohms it never gets hot and plays whatever I throw at it with ease ( I must say I was surprised ). My plan is to eventually upgrade my mid/high range as I have stated, as well as the sub amp when funds and the wife will allow . Aka work in progress , however in the mean time I want to get the most out of what I do have now...

So what box would you guys recommend I am thinking something like 3.5 cubes tuned around the 36-38 hertz rang. Is that about right?? And where can I find such a box to purchase (I just do not have the time to build it)??

Any help would be really really good!!

Thanx guys

Could also go with Brian at Starr Mountain Sound ( @double 07 ; )
Just shop around and go with whoever you feel more comfortable with and gives you the most fair price. Both p-r and Brian both make solid enclosures.

Thanks guys I am really happy with the sa's great product I replaced 2 jl w6v1 that I had running off of a Phoenix gold ti600.1 (old school setup) and the difference is very noticeable .. As far as ampreage should I chance going to 1 ohm .. I am a little worried about the audiopipe staying together at low impeadence... I guess for a 75$ investment I don't have much to lose.

I really cannot say enough about the apsm2000 it is a solid amp at 2 ohm I am sure it is over rated but **** it sounds great . It absolutely destroys the ti600.1 I had on the w6's not even a comparison. The other thing I noticed is the amp draws much less current as u would expect from a class d but I really did not think it would be that noticeable . With the old Phoenix gold 600 and the 500.4 together there was noticeable dimming of lights during high current applications ever since I went to the apsm2000 there is no voltage issues what so ever..

I know that audiopipe does not get much love around here but if you are trying to bang on a budget it is a solid amp.. I cannot wait to get those sa's in more box you can just tell the want to cut loose but can't due to the small enclosure I have them in..

I would look at ported, but ou need to look at the room you have available that you would want to use. It will be a rather large enclosure so shipping could get to be an issue perhaps.
