Sundown sa or rockford t1

I'm looking to put a decent system in my car nothing to crazy but I do like to bump all day when I drive (3 to 4 hrs of none stop music) I'm having a hard choice between a rockford fosgate t1d212 (2 subs) sealed to a RF t1000 or getting a sundown sa12 d2 (2 subs) ported to a t1000... I'm keeping my stock radio and I have 2 gauge wiring with a capacitor (no I'm not changing my radio to many theifs around here always stealing radios) my cars a 2012 scion xb I mainly listen to rap/hip hop and Spanish music. I plan on getting a epicenter soon as well... My budgets $1200 I do prefer sealed over ported cause the deep sound but I'd like to hear what u think. Keep your racist a$$ out of ur hear to talk ish about Spanish music !

depends on how loud you want it really lol. But you really are totally overpaying for the whole rockford setup up the yin yang(mainly that amp). If you want sound quality, look up image dynamics, if you want loud, you can go sundown. If you want sound quality and loudness, look up sound solutions audio GCON, or if you can find a dealer for it, a shok industries flo 1k around 205$ where i live.

If you build a ported box right, it'll get lower and deeper than a sealed box meanwhile still hitting all the notes in music and the best part, it'll be a lot louder. IMHO sealed is good for mainly saving trunk space there's nothing a sealed box can do that a ported box cant(besides saving space).

As for the rockford amp, it might have a cool punch feature, but you can easily get punch out of your subs with just more overall power, plus you said you'll be adding an epicenter anyways. for the 400$ you can get a stronger amp with more rms like a Q1-2200D or even their 1200 rms one thats only 210$

i'd personally get a pair of the flo 1k and feed it 2.5k rms with a ported box tuned to 28-32hz.

You'll probably be hearing a lot of people say lose the capacitor also.

forgot to link you some of the equipment GCON-12 Sound Solutions Audio 12" 750W GCON Series Subwoofer - SSA STORE this site is generally a very good place to start for good quality audio equipment with good customer service throughout your ownership of the product browse around to see what they have, check out the youtube vids they have on each individual product.

FLO 1K Series « Shok Industries

heard these live from a guy that tuned it to 23 hz. I actually had to cover my ears because its the first time i heard anything that went down that low with such authority. Their two entry level amps are pretty good too. they are rated at 12 volt power

Out of those two in a sealed box the Rockford is better but in direct swap the sa owns the Rockford ported. If you want sealed look into image dynamics, ssa, jl, fi q and ssd, ia flatlyne, or get a custom sub. Personally two flatlyne 12s in a sealed box 2.5cubes gross on 12-1500w would sound amazing. But my all time fav sealed box sub is the jl w6 it's just too expensive.

Ported on the other hand opens a much wider variety of subs that would shame the t1

I used to run a T1 and for the money Skar VVX was a lot better and clean sounding than the T1 but for the money look at Threatcon 2 $129 per sub with 3 inch voice coil

Threatcon Sub 12" 600watt $129

The 3 inch coil is useless unless you can feed it 1500+ which the owner states you can't and that the sub leaves the gap at 1200w so quite pushing the fact that its a 3inch coil. It gives this sub no benifit at all. A 2.5inch coil can handle just as much as this coil

Examples sa12, dd2512, dc lvl3, ssa gcon iirc, ia lethal injection, hell even the Rockford p3 can handle a clean 1200w

Honestly if this was me I would do two image dynamics idq 12s on a saz1500

can you kindly tell him how much the price of the subs you mentioned and i don't thing he is putting 1200 watts per subs

Winkchevell had mentioned fi q and ia flatlyne. I looked up fi audio and there back ordered almost three months maybe more from the forum they have linked I like the price and ratings (reviews i read) and was wondering if there was another place to get them online. As for the amp never mind the soundqubed ones seem highly rated and for the price seem more for me.

Woofersetc.com might have them call first

1800woofer.com may

Ssaudio.com/store may have them

Personally I don't mind paying for quality and ia prices seem fair to me

Yea they are a bit more expensive but at least they are tried and true. I'm not gambling on that subs soft parts. It seems to loose/soft for it to not be able to utilize the 3inch coil. I may change my mine after 6monrhs of forum abuse and reviews
