Sundown SA-8?

I am thinking of gitting a ROCKFORD FOSGATE R500-1 will that be ok for 2 of the sa-8 in a 1.5cf @35hz box in the back of my equinox if not how will one of them handel it and what will it campare to I have never had a 8" sub before will it still hit the lows or wood I be better off geting a SSA DCON 10 or Alpine SWR-10 in the same 1.5cf @ 35hz box

a single sa-8 would love that amp. and if you give the sa plenty of port area it will still get nice and low.

that said the dcon 10 is an amazing sub for the price.

either way i dont think youll be disappointed

how will one sa-8 campare to my old mtx thunder 6000 I had a old school ROCKFORD FOSGATE punch 60 pushing it in a pre fab ported box the mtx looks like a babby next to my oz audio me10 in my avatar

dual 4 sa-8 on a prime 500 in a ported box tuned to ~33Hz would sound great. not sure on power output but it def. would give the mtx a run for its money. i used to have a prime 500 amp, they are solid but they heat up rather quickly regardless of what ohm load they are seeing. they don't go into protect mode, though, they just get hot lol.

they sa8's are a great lil woofer!

with500rms the sa8 will spank a mtx 6000 10" ez in output and lowend responce. what it laques in cone area it makes up for in excursion.

i would deff want more than 500rms on a pair of sa8s

I think I am going to get one of the sa-8's withen the next month or so thanks for all the help and when will the sa8 v.2 come out and if it is soon shud I wate for it or get the v.1

i would wait for the v2

it will have a few advantages over the v1. including a shorting ring iirc

Jacob said he's all out of the v.1's. Wont be getting v.2's till mid june

Good luck finding an SA-8, they ahve been selling out constantly. you could run two of those prime amps and run two sa8s btw

Just get a single 10 or 12 and run that amp to it.
